The Benefits

What are composite veneers?

Composite veneers are another way to improve and enhance the smile.

They involve adding a material known as composite resin to the teeth to modify and rejuvenate the smile. They often require minimal or no tooth preparation and thus are a conservative option to enhance the smile, particularly in patients under the age of 30.

They are affordable and can be repaired or replaced at any time. They are however prone to stains, chipping and wear over time.

Which veneer is right for you?

Composite veneers are a type of resin that are applied directly onto the surface of the tooth to cosemtically enhance the smile.

They can be hand crafted or Digitally Designed.

Our standard composite veneer range are made of one shade of resin applied to the surface of the tooth, without tooth shaving. They are performed in a single visit and often require regular polishing on a 6 monthly basis.

Our layered composite veneer range is the best way to achieve a natural white finish that mimicks a highly aesthetic smile. They are produced using multiple shades of specialised composite resin to mimick the details of a natural white porcelain veneer smiles. The resins are also re-inforced, which improves strength and reduces the risks of chipping, which are a known limitation of composite veneers. They are performed in a single visit appointment.

Our Empress range is made of a ceramic material that is twice as strong as composite resin. They are superior in shine, polishability and of course strength. They dont require polishing on a 6 monthly basis. They are made over a two appointment process. While our Empress is a superior material, the most natural white look achievable comes from our layered composite veneer range.

The Process

The process begins with a records appointment where we take photos and scans of your teeth to fabricate the perfect smile that matches your taste and personality.

Once the Smile design process has been completed,

typically, a 10 teeth composite veneer smile is performed in a single visit.

Our standard composite veneer range is performed in one 3 hour visit.

Our layered composite veneer range is performed in one 4-5 hour visit, that is separate by a 30min break.

Our Empress range is performed in one 2-3 hour visit, followed by another 2-3 hour visit 3 weeks later.

All veneers are followed up by a review appointment 2 weeks later.

You are encouraged to wear an occlusal splint nightly, to protect your veneers from chipping, for the life of your veneers.

Composite Vs Porcelain Veneers

They are overall inferior to Porcelain Veneers, in terms of physical properties.

They can chip and stain, and as such require special care to maintain a beautiful smile using composite as the veneer material. Their main benifits comes from their affordability and minimal requirement for tooth preparation, so they are particularly useful in younger patients.

When compared to porcelain veneers:

With time, they start to look more matte

They need to be polished regularly to restore their aesthetics

They can stain with time

They can chip

They don't last as long. Average lifespan is 3-6 years, whereas empress veneers can last 5-10 years and porcelain veneers can last between 7-20 years.
